Agricultural Services

The Source Group (SGI) specializes in providing technical assistance, regulatory liaison, and project management services to the agricultural community. We have personnel that are nationally certified nutrient management planners.

SGI offers experience with manure handling, collection, storage, application, and treatment measures to protect water quality, minimize the loss of nutrients within the manure land application areas, and maximize nutrient uptake by the crops grown in the land application areas. We have experience in waste and nutrient management planning includes an in depth understanding of conservation practices, computer programs, such as Animal Waste Management Software, and other resources which have assisted us in developing appropriate manure management strategies as a part of Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs) and Waste and Nutrient Management Plans (WNMPs). This knowledge is crucial when making recommendations for facility, management, or infrastructure modifications. We also provide a highly comprehensive level of environmental responsibility and understanding which will assist producers to continue an efficient dairy operation while maintaining a high level of environmental responsibility.

Our involvement in a wide variety of challenging manure management planning activities for a large and diverse group of dairies throughout northern California has provided us unparalleled experience in nutrient management planning within the environmental regulatory framework of the central valley of California. As a result, SGI has created an efficient system for gathering and delivering the key information needed to complete dairy-specific CNMPs and WNMPs.

The rapport that our courteous and respectful personnel have developed with dairymen, dairy industry group representatives (Western United Dairymen and California Dairy Campaign), NRCS personnel, and analytical laboratory personnel in the central valley has been paramount to our success.
