Waste & Nutrient Management Planning

SGI has extensive experience with the most recent environmental monitoring and reporting regulations affecting existing milk cow dairies in the central valley of California.  These regulations, Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) General Order No. R5-2007-0035, were adopted by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board-Region 5 (Board) in May of 2007. 

SGI provides producers with a high level of experience and expertise regarding knowledge of the WDRs, which is extremely beneficial for producers. Though many of the requirements of the WDR are unique to dairymen, many are not.  We are familiar with the protocol and techniques required when submitting information to the Board.  In addition, we provide the technical expertise and experience in related fields such as engineering, geology, and hydrogeology, which will be crucial to completing activities such as installation of groundwater monitoring wells at dairies.
