Waste & Nutrient Management Planning

SGI has extensive experience with the most recent environmental monitoring and reporting regulations affecting existing milk cow dairies in the central valley of California that.  These regulations, Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) General Order No. R5-2007-0035, were adopted by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board-Region 5 (Board) in May of 2007.

SGI provides producers with a high level of experience and expertise regarding knowledge of the WDRs, which is extremely beneficial for producers when producers look to SGI for WDR compliance assistance.  Though many of the requirements of WDR R5-2007-0035 are unique to dairymen, many are not.  We are familiar with the protocol and techniques required when submitting information to the Board.  In addition, they provide the technical expertise and experience in related fields such as engineering, geology, and hydrogeology, which will be crucial to completing activities such as groundwater compound fate and transport modeling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells at a particular dairy.
