Phase II Environmental Assessments
Should a Phase I assessment identify areas of potential concern, a Phase II Environmental Assessment is performed to confirm the presence of contamination, if any. Typically, actual on-site sampling and laboratory analysis (soil, groundwater, air, etc.) are necessary. Once the Phase II assessment is complete, the findings are presented in a report which summarizes the results of all sampling and analysis, provides a discussion of the identified environmental impacts, and recommendations for additional work, if required.
Phase II includes: Sampling and analysis of soil and groundwater, groundwater monitoring well installation, air sampling and analysis, locating and testing of drains, sumps, and USTs, asbestos and lead based paint testing and management, classification of unknown discharges or wastes, and report preparation.
